
Marco Sanchez
Marco Sanchez is a Mexican-born artist based in El Paso, Texas. He is well-versed in printmaking, painting, and woodworking. He attended and received his BFA from the University of Texas at El Paso with a double concentration in Painting and Printmaking. His work ranges from his relationship with his mentors and peers to his cultural background and Mexican folklore. He has most recently explored the notion of how immigrant identity plays in society as a result of the current political climate in the United States.
Sanchez has worked primarily in the Southwestern U.S. and participated in residencies throughout Mexico, including City. Michoacán, Oaxaca, and Queretaro. Sanchez teaches printmaking classes and workshops at the El Paso Museum of Art. He is currently attending Edinboro University of Pennsylvania to pursue an MFA in printmaking under Bill Mathie's guidance.
