SKUISHI PRESS - Susan Gonzalez

Susan Ely Gonzalez, "Skuishi," is a local El Paso artist who creates works representing the borderland community's culture. Her career primarily focuses on printmaking, and she has been involved in the local art culture for over 15 years. Her printmaking techniques include relief with linoleum and wood, etching, waterless lithography,, stencils, and much more.

Gonzalez graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor's in Art, a double concentration in Printmaking and Graphic Design, and a Minor in Museum Art Studies. Her work has been inspired in different ways over the years. “I mainly enjoy creating series about Mexican holidays, traditional Mexican Folkloric dances, personal experiences, dreams, and personal observations.” She has participated in many shows locally, nationally, and internationally.
